Check In, Unwind
The Manchester area’s full of old farmhouses, cozy inns, and bed & breakfasts that take their coffee seriously. There are also plenty of Airbnbs if you’d rather play local for the weekend. Most spots are within a short drive of town — close enough to make it easy, far enough to feel like a getaway.
The Vermont Edit
If you’re making the trip, make it count. Vermont’s full of good food, cold rivers, winding roads, and the kind of views that make you pull over just to stare.
Think cold pints or chilled wines after long hikes, river swims between drives, and cocktails worth the detour. Whether you’re here for the weekend or a full escape, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorites.
The Right Swipe
We met in July 2020 — peak pandemic, peak awkward eye contact above masks. The date was simple: we met on Vanderbilt Avenue and walked to Prospect Park. Each of us brought our own blanket, our own bottle of wine, and our own cup. (Romance, but make it CDC-compliant.)
That summer and early fall, we spent our days trading sunsets — walking back and forth between each other’s apartments, sharing the same view from slightly different angles.
Over time, it became the kind of routine that just felt like home. These days, home just happens to include two dogs, a lot of good food, and a few too many travel plans.
